Mayor:  Chase Croft

Council Members:  Patty Hutcheson, Donald Rainey, Greg Lane.

Department Heads: City Clerk Karen King, Public Works Director Dean Tanner, Police Chief Chad Henderson

Mayor Croft: called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Croft welcomed everyone.

Mayor Croft leads Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Croft asks for invocation.

Mayor Croft states public hearings will take place at next regular scheduled council meeting, would like budget proposals turned in by May 22nd Karen will begin getting quotes from insurance providers, and Fair on Square is May 16th and starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 5p.m. parade will be at noon and on May 2nd   car show starts at5 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m.

Mayor Croft asks to accept the agenda for tonight.  Donald Rainey made motion.  Patty Hutcheson seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

Mayor Croft asks to accept the minutes from March 16, 2015 council meeting and March 31, 2015 called meeting with correction.  Donald Rainey made a motion.   Patty Hutcheson seconded the motion.  Motion carried 3-0.

Public Participation:

Donnie Boswell: (Chairman of Development Authority)

Donnie Boswell presents mayor and council with plans to restripe parking lot across from MCL, Bobby Reid agreed to do this in a trade and is now ready to proceed and it will not cost City of Buchanan anything it was worked out in a trade several years ago.

Kenny Hughes:  (Park Committee)

Kenny states Park Committee would like to have notice put on sign in front of City Hall about taking bids for seating area at Park.

New Business

Mayor Croft states council member vacancy will be filled by having a qualifying period just as you would in a normal election qualifying will be Monday May 4th through Thursday May 7th this qualifying period is to make sure anybody interested is qualified to hold the seat council will discuss the applicants in an executive session at the May 12th  meeting and then vote fill the seat. 

Old Business

Mayor Croft states city wide yard sale has been rescheduled for April 25th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. contact Dianne Williams if you have any questions.

Public Works Director Dean Tanner:

Not present. 

Police Chief Chad Henderson:

Chad states he doesn’t have an update.

City Clerk Karen King:

Karen states that since March 16th we have collected over sixteen thousand in back taxes.

Code Enforcement Nathan Forrister:

Nathan asks that council decide what they want to do in regard to 38 Dodson Street.

Mayor Croft asks for a motion to adjourn.  Donald Rainey makes motion to adjourn.  Greg Lane seconded motion.  Motion carried 3-0.
