Work Session

Mayor Chase Croft welcomed and thanked all visitors for attending the work session. The purpose of the work session was to receive input from other community associates on topics of interest to them and to the Mayor and Council.  Mayor Chase Croft opened the floor for discussion of issues.

Discussions centered on the following topics:


      Possible website

      Ordinance updates

      Mobile home removal

      Meeting calendar

      Credit card machine contract

      Park Committee is looking to complete the park project by spring

      Weather watch in effect in our area

      Zoning ads


Mayor Chase Croft once again thanked everyone for their participation and stated the

meeting will now go into the Called Meeting portion.

Called Meeting

Mayor Croft asks to accept the agenda for tonight.  Patricia Brown made motion.  Patty Hutcheson seconded the motion.  Motion carried 4-0.

Mayor Croft reads petition to rezone property owned by Haralson County Veterans Association at 4047 Hwy 120, Buchanan, GA 30113 from R1 to industrial use.

Mayor Croft reads petition to rezone property owned by City of Buchanan at 112 Carrollton Street from R1 to commercial use.

Public hearings for these rezones will be on 16th of March, 2015 and 31st of March, 2015.

Mayor Croft asks to postpone vote on ordinance update until March 16, 2015 meeting.  Donald Rainey made motion.  Patricia Brown seconded the motion.  Motion carried 4-0.

Mayor Croft asks for a motion to sign one year contract with credit card machine company nexcheck previously discussed.  Patricia Brown makes motion. Patty Hutcheson seconded motion.  Motion carried 4-0.
